Draught Busters
We are now actively seeking more clients for our free draught bustering service.
The project will help vulnerable and elderly people in Stamford and the surrounding villages to eliminate draughts (which account for about 20% of the heat lost from our homes), and also to carry out energy audits for their homes to determine the best way to improve levels of comfort and energy saving.
This service is run by volunteers and is free of charge.
If you would like to learn more, or you know of an elderly or vulnerable local resident living in a draughty, cold house and who would benefit from this service, please contact John Yard on 01780 763967 or jyard98@btinternet.com
STT at the Friday Market
No, it wasn’t a joke, and we are not selling veg, but STT set up shop at the Stamford Friday market on the 1 April.
Fortunately, a dry day and a busy market made for a productive time meeting shoppers and distributing copies of the Bright Green Energy Show handbook. It seems a lot of people have already installed basic loft insulation and improved glazing but of course there’s lots more people can do to reduce energy use. Hopefully our presence will get more people taking advantage our our draught busting service. Overall, a good reception from new and old faces alike, and an exercise we will be repeating soon.
Thanks to all those who helped out on the day.
We’ll be running the stall again on 24th June and 30th September, so come along and say hello if you want to see what STT are up to, or just ask for more information.
